Holiday and nature experience on the Steyr River 

Our guesthouse, which we have lovingly renovated in 2019, has 3 double rooms, 1 single room and a flat, and is located in Grünburg, in the wildly romantic Steyrtal National Park region in southern Upper Austria, directly on the banks of the emerald-green Steyr River. All our newly designed rooms are equipped with bath, shower and WC and high-quality box-spring beds as well as satellite TV and free Wi-Fi and offer a wonderful view of the crystal-clear Steyr, which invites you to refresh yourself in summer. The "hidden" natural bathing spots are an insider tip, but we are happy to reveal them!
Exercise and nature experience on your doorstep
Get on your bike and start pedalling - that's the motto right on our doorstep! The family-friendly Steyrtal Cycle Path R8, on the former route of the Steyrtal Railway, passes right by us. The route to Spital /Pyhrn (Styrian border) is approx. 55 km long, to Steyr - in the other direction - you cycle 20 km. For weary pedalers, there is a return shuttle bus on weekends and public holidays, the bus stop is 100 m from our house.
We offer an e-bike rental with 5 e-bikes directly in the house. With the e-bikes you can cycle from our guesthouse to the Grünburgerhütte or the Schoberstein in 1 to 1.5 hours. Rustic alpine huts in the Kalkalpen National Park are also easily accessible from us. Many wonderful hiking and cycling tours lead to unique natural spectacles, such as the Rinnerberg Waterfall or the Rinne Wall, and through the wildly romantic natural landscape of the Kalkalpen National Park region. Maps and information material as well as personal tour tips are available in our house.
City and cultural experiences are also on the programme during a holiday in our house, whether it's a visit to the small historic town of Steyr or a tour of the region.
 
Next to our guesthouse we run the "Cafe Rafaela", which we opened in 2016. Here we spoil you with a rich breakfast, delicious cakes and wonderful ice cream sundaes, which are enjoyed with pleasure in the guest garden or on the bridge terrace of the former Steyrtalbahn.

Those interested in history can explore the old iron town of Steyr from Grünburg museum station on Austria's oldest narrow-gauge railway - the museum Steyrtalbahn - or experience old crafts in one of our numerous museums and show enterprises of the Upper Austrian Iron Road. The music theatre in the spa town of Bad Hall offers pure culture with operas, operettas and musicals, as well as a beautiful 34-hectare spa park, which you can reach by car or e-bike in a short time.

We offer numerous excursion options for all weather conditions, either "by train to the Stod, or by bike up the mountain or to the bodn in Steyr"!

(With us, there are numerous excursion possibilities for any weather, either by train to the beautiful old town of Steyr or by (e)bike to the mountains or to the beautiful sandbanks of the turquoise-coloured Steyr River. This river also offers the perfect opportunity for fly-fishing directly in front of our house.
Winter sports enthusiasts can reach the World Cup skiing area of Hinterstoder or the Wurzeralm in less than an hour.
The Advent calendar village of Steinbach/Steyr can be reached comfortably on foot in 10 minutes, which offers many attractions, such as the Advent market, the oversized Advent calendar, the Steyrtaler Perchten, the cot house with the exhibition "Cribs from all over the world - Pils Collection" with over 600 cots from 100 countries, the Messerer Museum and much more....
