Whether with snowshoes or with good footwear, the Ennser Hütte and the Almkogel are a fantastic winter destination. In November, December & March, April on weekends from Friday and continuously open from 28. 12 to 6. 1. Enjoy a wonderful view over the snow-covered Kalkalpen National Park in the warm parlour at 1295 m!
Our local mountain is the Almkogel at 1513 m which offers a spectacular 360° panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.

The south-facing orientation of our hut provides us with our dreamy sunsets, which you can enjoy on the sun terrace in summer and winter alike.  In the cozy guest room, heated by a tile stove, everyone will find a spot to relax. We still cook in a traditional way using a wood stove. On this stove, we prepare our hut specialties, bake delicious pastries, heat our rooms, and provide hot water. Quite industrious, especially when one remembers to stoke the fire regularly. We source our drinking water from a spring located under the hut, and the water for the WC facilities is collected from rain. Everything is cleaned in our own wastewater treatment plant. Our electricity is generated by our photovoltaic system, and if that's not enough, the generator kicks in. Since not everyone has perfect mobile reception in the mountains, the hut offers free Wi-Fi. A small climbing wall is attached to the outside wall of the hut, where you can let off some steam. You will need to bring your own equipment.

For our overnight guests, a drying room and washrooms with hot water are available. On the upper floor, there are 2 double rooms, a 3-bed room, and 3 dormitories (two for 8 people each and one for 13 people).

In 1947, the construction of the refuge on the Prennalm began with the Nature Friends from Großraming. The continuation of the construction and the completion of the hut were carried out by the Nature Friends from Enns – which is also why it is named Ennser Hütte. The official opening took place on August 15, 1957. After five decades, it was returned to the local group of Großraming, which then conducted extensive expansion and renovation work.
