The mountain Grünberg offers various attractions next to the hiking-paths. 

High above the beautiful town of Gmunden, the Grünberg invites you to experience nature with 20 kolometres of well-developed hiking trails, an idyllic nature reserve, great leisure activities and cosy places to stop for refreshments.

The local recreation area and hiking paradise on Gmunden´s local mountain offers a leisurely way to enjoy the magnificent view over Lake Traunsee from the summit!

Thanks to the barrier-free Grünberg mountain railway, the almost 600 metres of altitude difference up the Grünberg can be conquered comfortably and effortlessly. At the summit, you will find a range of leisure activities including the Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run, adventure playground, low ropes course and a wide network of hiking trails.

Another highlight for young and old is the Salzkammergut treetop walk. Here you can expeience unique perspectives high above the forest floor. Passing numerous information and adventure stations, the treetop path winds its way through the mixed mountain forest on the Grünberg. The highlight of the trail is the 39 metre high observation tower, which offers a breathtaking view of Lake Traunsee, the Salzkammergut and the Dachstein from the top platform of the tower. And the 75 metre long tunnel slide takes you down the observation tower - pure action is guaranteed.

The offer is rounded off with signposted cycle paths, the paragliding launch site and the hiking trails to the Laudachsee nature reserve. This can be reached on foot from the mountain station in around 1 hour. The wonderful hiking trail on wide forest roads is ideal for senior citizens, families with small children and pushchairs.

The mountain inns on the Grünberg and at Lake Laudachsee invite you to stop for a bite to eat and spoil yourself with snacks and regional specialities from the Salzkammergut!
